FAQ

What are award seats?

Award seats are flight seats that airlines make available to be booked using frequent flyer points or miles, rather than cash. These seats exist across all cabin classes—economy, premium economy, business, and first class.

However, airlines only release a limited number of award seats per flight, and availability tends to be more restricted in the premium cabins. On popular long-haul routes, especially during peak travel seasons, availability can be tough to find.

That’s where working with a points consultant can help—I’ll guide you on how to maximise your chances of finding and booking these high-value seats using your points.

Not at all. Whether you have a large stash of frequent flyer points or are just getting started, I can help. If you’re new to the world of points, I’ll guide you step-by-step on how to start earning them strategically—so you can work toward your first premium flight as efficiently as possible.

Yes—redeeming frequent flyer points for travel in premium cabins is completely legal. In fact, airline loyalty programmes are a major revenue stream for carriers, and they actively encourage members to earn and redeem points.

What’s not allowed is buying points from other passengers or paying someone to book flights using their points. That’s not what we’re doing here.

My role is to coach you on how to earn frequent flyer points through legitimate methods and redeem them effectively for high-value travel. I’ll help you craft a smart points strategy and guide you to the best airline redemptions available—legally, transparently, and confidently.

Absolutely. Frequent flyer programmes are global, and the ability to earn and redeem points isn’t limited by where you live. The same core rules and redemption rates apply no matter your country of residence.

That said, it can be easier to earn points if your local banks offer airline co-branded credit cards or transferable points programs. I’m happy to research the credit card and earning options available in your country and tailor a points strategy that works for you.

That’s entirely up to you. I can tailor your points strategy to help you fly with your preferred airline. That said, you’ll have the best chance of finding award availability—especially on your desired travel dates—if you’re open to 2 or 3 airline options rather than just one.

If you’re flexible or unsure, I’m happy to draw on my deep knowledge of the aviation industry to recommend airlines with excellent cabins, service, and points availability—so you can travel in comfort and style using your points.

I offer a personalised coaching service tailored to your travel goals. This includes helping you understand which points to collect, how to earn them faster (e.g. through point sales, credit cards, or other partnerships), and how to redeem them for high-value flights. The goal is for you to walk away with a booked trip in a premium cabin.

Ideally as early as possible. Some airlines open up award seat availability up to 355 days in advance while others release them gradually throughout the year. Reaching out early increases your chances of securing the best routes and cabin options—especially if you’re aiming for premium cabins or travel during peak seasons.

That said, if your trip is coming up soon, don’t worry—last-minute award space does also open up in the days preceding departure, and I can still help you find great options if you’re flexible.

Whether you’re planning well ahead or booking close to departure, I’ve got you covered.

It depends on the airline, but generally, reward bookings tend to be more flexible than cash tickets. Most frequent flyer programmes offer low change and cancellation fees—or even allow free changes.

If flexibility is a priority for you, we can factor that into your strategy when selecting which airline and programme to book through. I’ll help ensure your points give you both comfort and confidence in your plans.

I don’t operate as a travel agent and won’t book flights on your behalf. Instead, I act as your personal points consultant—helping you find the best options and showing you exactly how to book them yourself, step by step. I am happy to do video calls to walk you through the full booking process. This ensures you stay within the rules of frequent flyer programmes and remain in full control of your booking.

It depends on your destination, cabin class, the programme you’re using and how many points you have already accumulated—but savings can be significant. For example, a business class ticket that might cost £4,000+ in cash can often be booked for under £500 in taxes and fees when using points. Part of my role is to help you identify high-value redemptions so you get maximum return on your points.

No problem—you can book a free 15-minute discovery call where we can talk through your situation and I can point you in the right direction. No pressure, no obligation—just helpful advice to get you started.
